Nuance is an industry leader in optical character recognition, speech synthesis and speech recognition. To maintain their strength and differentiate from competitors they were looking for a sustainable learning solution for staff that would also provide revenue from the sale of training to customers, partners and resellers. They turned to Seertech for help.

In 2011 Nuance engaged Seertech, based on the company's experience in implementing robust, scalable, powerful and easy to use e-commerce enabled LMS solutions,
together with the rich functionality of its iLearning PLUS product.

The Solution

Using Seertech's innovative e-commerce module created a seamless bi-directional integration with Digital River, automating course selection, payment and user registration process with license keys for course activation.

In addition to supporting payment via credit card, iLearning PLUS introduced its order creation and transaction managfement module to facilitate any type of payment, including purchase orders, budget transfers, learning credits, entitlements, even pay later. This enabled support for large organizational training purchases (including automation of payment reconciliation), which have been instrumental in driving increased training sales for Nuance.

The Benefits

Nuance estimates a savings of over 500 instructor days annually, dramatic improvements to customer learning retention and the sale of more training with the same number of staff. They were also able to retire three separate LMS deployments representing a saving of over $75,000 per year in support and maintenance fees.
